The Guthrie Machine is a casual chorus that celebrates songs of peace, protest, and justice. We want to have fun grounded in a real commitment to liberation.

We sing songs by Woody Guthrie, Bob Dylan, James Weldon Johnson, Kinky Friedman, Rage Against the Machine, and many others. We are always glad to learn new songs.

The Guthrie Machine was started to oppose neofascist events during the last presidency. Since then, the Machine has been too idle. Now feels like a good time to oil the gears and get moving again. It's not just about what we oppose this time, but about what we want to build.

Sing-alongs (rehearsals) are open to anyone who shares our goal of liberty and justice for all. We will also take a few minutes to talk about current issues and organizing in the area.

Our first rehearsal is Thursday, May 2nd from 7-8pm at Acme Pie Company in Arlington, VA.
